Gardening 2009

Here they are...the seeds I planted. Finally sprouting in all their glory. They are loving the view out the south window while basking in the sun...wait it has been kinda rainy...I am anxiouly waiting to plant the "real" garden. My brother is letting us borrow his tiller and last week would have been perfect to till...but I was not feeling good at all, it felt like I swallowed a hand full of tacks....But this week for sure we will get to planting. Tonight was gourgous! Jas, the dogs and I walked around our farm and looked at all the "green" the apricot tree is looking pretty with its blossoms, the lilacs will be blooming shortly, the rose bushes are perking up and of course the grass will need to be mowed. :) What a perfect evening to clean the garage and grill too.
Last week my dad took me to a pancake breakfast while my mom was at the hospital visiting my Grandma and Jason was at work and we scored by hitting an estate sale. It happened to be a lady my Grandma Vernetta knew and went to church with, so I bought these book marks she made, I am going to use them in my Bible...aren't they fun. I also got a toothpick holder with my Great-Granparents store advertisment on it...and a 1958 calendar from their store...Its all displayed in my kitchen. Do you like things like that? I treasur anything with meaning behind it. Do you like gardening? Do you like cleaning the garage? Oh and do you like Roatrips???? Because we sure do!!! More on that later. I have to go clean up the kitchen after making oatmeal, raisin, cranberry, chocolate chip cookies. :)
Oh and I couldn't get spell check to work...therefore....most likely there are going to be misspelled words....ahhhhhh

Anxiously awaiting.....

Germination...of my seeds. The herbs I cut back are growing really nicely, soon we will have fresh chives and parsley...woo hoo.

I think today could be a very productive one. I enjoy getting up early on the weekend and getting things accomplished.

I already:
Baked Lemon Poppy Seed muffins.
Drank a pot of coffee.
Emptied the dish washer.
Reloaded the dish washer.
Started the laundry.

To Do List for today:
Cut up veggies for my veggie tray for Easter dinner.
Get the craft I am bringing ready. (we are making flowers out of tissue paper and decorating a vase for them.)
Finishing laundry.
Putting fresh laundered sheets on.
Fold laundry.
Put away laundry.
Cut up some strawberries.
Pick up sticks (logs) that Ivan has brought up to the house...
Vacuum.
Devotions.
Get my little nieces Easter basket ready :)
and whatever else comes to mind....

The start of GARDENING 2009

If only my Mother knew I started my seedlings in my LIVING ROOM....but anyways that is indeed what I did this A.M. As I was watching Martha Stewart that I had recorded I got the urge to get my seeds started. Now only if they will grow and produce...(we will see). Note my snowflake pajama pants in the bottom of this picture...yeah I didn't even get dressed for the day until I got my seeds planted....Oh the joys of not having to be to work until 1P.M. on Monday's and Friday's
It all started about a month ago when I stopped at the local seed house just to "browse"......well browsing turned into buying....seeds, good soil (the lady recommended), stakes for labeling and a variety of seeds I could start indoors. So I got the soil good and soaked and put the seeds in. I also trimmed back my parsley and chives, hopefully they will grow back nicely...but who knows it is trial and error right???
In the process....on the coffee table in the living room...
(yes I cleaned it all up and vacuumed.)
The label station....don't you just love Sharpie markers??? I have an obsession with them and so does my mom...we are weird like that! :)

Here half of them are in their south facing window. I have so many plants that I had to boot some out of this window to a different one.

And here is the other half of them along with some of the plants that got removed to make space for the other seedlings....Now we will wait and see what happens. :)

-Dusted EVERYTHING!!!!
-Washed the mirrors
-Vac Rugs/ wash rugs
-Wash kitchen/entry way floors
-Vac steps and all the furniture!
-Washed and folded ALL the laundry (which I need to put away before I leave today) :)
Watered all of my 25 plants.
Made smoothies out of fruit that needed to be used.
Go an A on my Micro Quiz.
Watched my Husband play pool at his last night of the season.
Took supplies for a homemade pizza to my brother and his wife.
Took a shower and forgot to wash my HAIR!!! grr how could I be so "forgetful"?
Enjoyed the nice weather by sitting outside with Jason and the boys.
Painted my finger nails.
Made an apt to get a pedicure (its only $10) :)
Registered for a summer class.
Printed off a Scholarship application.
Had the windows open...then the furnace started running...
