Sew Simple

This morning was rainy, the breeze was nice coming in the window, my coffee was enjoyable, J was working so I was sewing.  This is what became of my rainy day motivation.  Next on the list: curtains, sunglasses case & mini bags.  I spent the afternoon napping, nothing beats a good nap.

Oh how I Love love LOVE him...

Have you EVER in your life seen anything cuter? I know me either!

We went to "Prom" (it was a PTO fundraiser) last weekend. Jason wanted to wear his "outfit" (I think the word outfit is funny) from the thrift store, however, I didn't have anything to match. And you know when you go to prom you HAVE to match...well in my mind you do. Sew, I sewed a dress...and made coordinating flowers one for his suit coat and one for my hair. Jason ended up winning Best Dressed for the males and got his picture on the front page of MY hometown newspaper...it was the CUTEST thing ever! Don't you agree he is just plain "cute".

Happy Day!

This is my Grandpa Ralph, he just moved into assisted living in a near by town. His place is connected to the nursing home I worked at for 3 years, it is like home to me. Sunday was his first day at his new place. I baked a tart, a Martha recipe, and brought it down to him and insisted we go and share it with all the others enjoying coffee in the dinning room. It was a hit, they at it all. And I think Grandpa got to know some nice people! I used the cake stand that Grandpa gave me for Christmas this year, it was my Grandma Verneta's. Oh how I love it! Doesn't Grandpa just make you happy? He does me! And WOW do we have TONS of memories!

Love you Gramps!

Snow Day-Sew Day

It all started when Jason was gone on an ice fishing trip and I stayed at my mom and dad's. Mom and I went shopping with my aunt and cousins and I treated myself to this "Sew Darn Cute" book at Barnes and Noble. I am pretty sure everyone should own this book! I think I have looked at it 30+ times! So the idea was planted and this is the start of my:
MAGAZINE BAG

Here is the bag close to being done.
Creating the embellishments while watching my recordings of Martha Stewart.
Note my new red coffee table my boss gifted me for Christmas. Yeah I now have a matching set the tall-behind-the-couch-table and the coffee table! Yahhhooooo

Finished Product:
Hanging on my new-to-me laundry basket, I think it is so cute I just like to leave my laundry in it to look at...Yeah you guessed it, it doesn't take much to excite me! :)

Do you sew?

-Bought some vintage fabric and a new book with TONS of fun things to sew
-Had mom's popcorn, why can't I make it like she can?
-Mom also made her famous pancakes, oh how I love them!

Oh What a B-E-A-utiful weekend...

Did I ever mention how much I love this man?
There are so many things to be thankful for and he is DEFINITELY on the top of the list!
I LOVE his:
humor, smile, clean shave face, hugs, laugh, sensitive side, ring finger with his wedding ring on, wood pile he is making, chainsaw in his hands, our inside jokes, ability to get WOUND up from coffee, how he lets me taste his coffee every A.M. before he leaves for work, when he puts a towel on the seat in his car so I don't get full of dog hair, chili he makes, crust for homemade pizza, oh I just love love love him!

I am thankful for this weekend and I have so much to be thankful for! Life is good!

What are you thankful for?
